We begin in darkness
We try the way of the world We become lost, alone, and discontented We begin to talk to whom we do not know We begin to read the scripture Or listen to the word preached The first pathway to revelation We know we are sinners and repent We are born again when we try Jesus We now have a hunger for scripture For the church And to do the will of God We become doers of the word Not hearers only The second pathway to revelation We begin to live the word As the word speaks to our heart Not just our head We seek deeper conversion We look for a church that is spirit-filled Not a dead legalistic church We see the Spirit in operation And we definitely want that experience We get prayed for to receive the baptism of the Spirit The third pathway to revelation We give utterance in tongues And we are filled with the Spirit Trials and persecution follow We recognize our shortcomings We know that there is within us Spirits tormenting our soul It could take years When we have been tried, tested, and weary The fourth pathway to revelation We are delivered and sanctified Silence becomes important Separation from the world becomes important Nature opens another door to God The fifth pathway to revelation God can tap in any time as we abandon the world for Him Amen |
