Adam and Eve hid themselves from the presence of the Lord
Gen3:8 The devil comes to kill, and steal, and to destroy (Jn10:10a) The devil wants nothing better than to beat us up. He hates every man and woman made in the image of God and wants to keep as many people as he can from having life and having it more abundantly which is one reason Jesus came for us.(Jn10:10b) Because of the fall of Adam and Eve, because we have inherited a sin nature, because we are born with original sin, the devil has a legal right to inflict temptations, sickness, trials and tribulations, and death on any man and woman, and even our thinking, our choices and decisions, are subject to error and bad consequences due to the fall. When we sin the devil, at his choosing, can hit us with any hardship he wants and God will permit it, he has no choice. So the Law which can never justify us, can at the very least, give us life if we adhere to its commands. But if we submit to the righteousness of God, submit to the exceeding greatness of his power(Ehes1:19), live by faith, walk in the Spirit, crucify the flesh, and enter the kingdom of God, then we will live in victory, peace, love, and joy, health and prosperity, and the devil can do nothing about it. God places a hedge of protection around his saints and that person lives in victory. Hiding is a consequence of the fall. People not born again hide. Many do not wants others to see and to know the things that they think, imagine, and do. They only want people to see their good side. As a result they may never confess their sin and receive new life. Others may be born again and even Spirit filled but are still facing trials and temptations and spiritual weights which if they don't confess allow the devil the right to beat them up. So unless we work out our salvation we may continue to make bad choices, continue to experience sickness and tribulations, continue to not experience the full blessing of God. If you are
not sure of your relationship with God, if you have a relationship with God but
are not living in victory, then the scripture is their for doctrine, reproof,
correction, and instruction in righteousness.
Use the Law as a schoolmaster to bring you to Christ. By the Law is the knowledge of sin. When you recognize where you fall short of
the glory of God, confess your faults.
Repent. Plead the blood of
Christ. Stop hiding. Stop pretending you have it all together when
you don't. Take the beam out of your own
eye before you see where to take out the splinter from your brother's eye. Simply get real. All of humanity is born under the curse. Only those who have worked out their
salvation live in the victory and the blessing of God. What you experience is common to every
man. Humble yourself in the sight of the
Lord and he will lift you up. Unless you
get free, the devil still has a right to access in your life and you are still
in jeopardy. But if you get free,
victory is your reward. amen
