Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ
1Cor11:1
This past week a Hindu friend of mine shared a Karma with me.
“You eat your own food.” It's like going to a restaurant and
enjoying a good meal and later learning how to make that meal for
yourself. Success in life comes from gleaning all that is good
from someone who has learned the secret of life and applying
those principles to your own life. If you do, you will reap the
blessing just like the person you learned from. Not only do you
make the bed you sleep in, but if you are wise you will learn from your
mother how to make the bed! St. Paul is saying very much the same thing. If you marvel at the wisdom and success of Paul, then follow him as he has followed Christ. If you do, then what follows, will be success along the same lines as Paul. Jesus says very much the same thing. Unless you deny your self and take up your cross, you can not be my disciple. So learn from those who are successful and success will be the food you eat. Attach yourself to Christians who are running the race. Attach yourself to Christians who have entered the kingdom; the kingdom which is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Attach yourself to Christians who have conquered their flesh, are willing to share the wisdom they have learned through experience and get as much as you can, learn as much as you can, and begin to eat your own food. Much of our problems come from being born with a sin nature, being born in situations that are not life giving, and attaching ourselves to people, places, and things that feed the flesh and not the spirit. Only when we have come to the end of our rope, do we look to alternative solutions. Unless you are born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God. We are born in spiritual darkness. But if you see salvation, if you see hope, if you see love in Jesus, we can alter the course of our life. You can change the course of destiny. You can beat the odds. What you read, what you look at, the movies you watch, the places you go, how you spend your time, who you spend your time with is the food you eat. If you think about it that way maybe you will decide to make some changes. Those changes may indeed be the best meal you ever ate. Don't be afraid to change your diet. We all had to die to something in order to enter the kingdom. You eat your own food so learn how to be a good cook! amen |
