You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free
Jn8:32

One day some thirty six years ago I came to know the truth and for about four and a half years now I have been free.  To be free is to have no other spirits inside you but God's and your own.  It is to live without stress, have the flesh conquered and tame, and have peace, love, and joy.  To be free is more valuable than gold and silver.  It is the reward of living a life by faith.  I take meds for my bipolar disorder and high blood pressure, but since I became free, I have not had a cold or needed pain medication for a headache or body ache.  That's pretty impressive in a world of sickness, sin, and stress. So getting free might be something you may wish to desire and pray for and experience.  When you're free God helps you in all your choices and decisions and scripture becomes unfolded and clear.  Your witness to others becomes increasingly beneficial and people see God in you even when they can not put a finger on it.  When you're free you prosper in spirit, soul, body, relationships, and finance.  Life is uncomplicated, effortless, and burden-less.  It is a life of simplicity and grace.  St. Paul tells us to stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not again entangled with the yoke of bondage (Gal5:1).  So how do we get free?

Jesus is the truth so get to know Jesus.  Unless you are born again, you can not possibly know the truth, and unless you are Spirit filled and Spirit led, you will not be able to comprehend his life, his relationship with the Father, or scripture.  How long does it take to know the truth?  For me it took thirty two years.  But when, after spending all those years in scripture, ministry, and trials, I was delivered from spiritual torment that the Spirit of God came into me like a mighty rush of wind.  It was then that everything which was a struggle and a challenge, became effortless and joyful.  So even in this world of sin, darkness, and death, there exists the real possibility of true freedom.

If you can overcome fear, if you can overcome ego, if you can overcome doubt, ask Jesus into your heart and tell him you will do whatever it takes to become free.  If you do, then God will meet you where you are and help you by giving you his Spirit.  You must then make scripture a priority, you must renounce sin and the devil, and you must begin to walk in love.  If you do, you will experience trials and persecution, you will experience a need to abandon the world, and your associations, tastes in music, literature, and hobbies, and where you spend your leisure time will change. That's the price I paid, but after a long journey, it paid real dividends.

Decide what you truly want.  Decide where you wish to spend eternity.  Decide if the cost is worth the time and effort.  You decide.  It's your call.

amen
