Many people do not know the word of God and they suffer for it. They are not able to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and are not able to bring every thought under the obedience of Christ (2Cor10:3-5). That is truly sad. Yet there are many people who have only the letter of the word and they use it to cast down others and exalt themselves. The letter kills. It is only the spirit that brings life (2Cor3) The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy of the Holy Spirit. (Rom10:17). Being born again is important. Being baptized in the Holy Ghost is important. Yet if you are not walking in love, if you judge, back bite, condemn, lack forgiveness, in short, have not left the old kingdom behind, we have not entered the kingdom of God. You may be able to prophesy, heal, and do many marvelous things, yet if you lack Christian love, it profits you nothing )Matt7:22-23, 1Cor13) The kingdom of God is obscure because we live in darkness and are not able to see into the kingdom. Jesus spoke in parables that seeing they might not see and hearing they might not understand. It is critical that we obey the truth. It is important that we forsake all to follow Christ and enter the kingdom. It is important that we crucify the flesh, fornication, adultery, hatred, anger, resentfulness and walk in the Spirit(Gal5). Just being a good person will not get you into the kingdom of God. Just knowing the word will not get you into the kingdom of God. Unless you love as Jesus loved and obey both the word and the inner witness you are still on the outside looking in. Only few enter the kingdom because the door is narrow. Wide is the door that leads to destruction and many enter through that door (Matt7:13-14). Amen |
