My Jesus, My Saviour, My God
07/23/09
George Poulo

From the cross
He finished the work
His Father sent him to do
He took on his body
The sin of the world
And made the covenant
Of his blood the means
Of salvation for all
Selah

By merely accepting as gift
What Jesus was sent to accomplish
One reaps all the blessings of God
And everlasting life

Let me show you
His gift:
"Today thou shalt be with me in Paradise."
His mercy:
“Father forgive them
For they know not what they do”
His love:
“My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
At that moment he identified with our sin
His loss:
“I thirst”
As the Holy Spirit departed
His life:
“It is finished”
There was nothing left to give
And so
He gave up His spirit
For you and for me
Selah

His life was a continual sacrifice
The giving up of his holy self to God
To demonstrate the fruit of obedience
And a sinless life
It was a suffering,
And a passion,
And an agony
For you
And for me
And for all the world

As God he left
The glory of heaven
As man
He humbled himself
To the point of death
Death on a cross
Selah

Behold the Lamb
Behold the king
Behold the love
Behold my Jesus,
My Savior,
My God

Invite him in
He is waiting
With outstretched arms
To embrace you
There is no better time than now
To invite him in

Amen
