Reflections in May

The Spirit of Phariseeism:  When one begins to do the things God wants you to do and you begin to judge others for not doing those same things. When you justify yourself in your works and not your faith in Christ, you crucify the Lord.  (The Publican and the Pharisee)

The only thing that can put a curb on the will of God is sin.

God has only one will and it is perfect. Nothing but the perfect will of God is his will.  To do less is to court disaster: the devil’s entrance to kill and steal and destroy.

New wine must be put in new wineskins:  The last transformation in a Christian’s life is the transformation of the body: God fashioning your body like unto his glorious body.

The remedy for darkness and perplexity is to come to the light of Christ.

The Holy Spirit is a separating force: He calls us to forsake the world and embrace the Word (Jesus) and the word (bible).  Do not grieve the Spirit of God.

When one is born again one experiences death: the wages of sin is death and the solution is repentance which brings resurrection life.

Time is what God uses to convert head knowledge into living faith.

When God sees that you have been sufficiently tried and tested He brings the victory.  Therefore cast not away your confidence.

Living faith divides our difficulties like Moses parted the Red Sea: we simply walk by faith and not by sight.

Freedom:  Leaving the world of conceptual knowledge and entering into the spiritual dimension.  If you would simply look, you would see.

When God reveals the depths of the depravity of our natural man one is truly appalled and astonished at what one is capable of doing.  This is a great revelation and the beginning of humility.  All we can do is cry out for mercy and beg for forgiveness.
