Proverbs in May
05/24/2013
George Poulo

  • Giving to big ministries is like playing the lottery: I give in faith that I might hit the big one.
  • I know the gospel because I live it and I live the gospel because I know it.
  • When people see Christ in you then they will accept Christ.
  • I earn a living to preach the gospel: I don't preach the gospel to earn a living.
  • It is more important to love your neighbor as yourself then to be in love with yourself.
  • Silence and stillness is a better teacher than busyness and activity.
  • When you have mastered the art of listening then you are ready to speak.
  • Have no other plan than to be open to what God has planned for you.
  • To love your neighbor as yourself is to learn to be generous with all you possess.
  • When you have mastered silence, time and eternity become one.
  • A heart that has received Christ is a heart that is directed by love and good works.
  • When I follow Christ, Christ follows me.
  • Nothing quenches the Spirit more than yielding to the flesh.
  • Forsake righteousness and everyone suffers: be righteousness and everyone gets blessed.
  • To accept Christ as an adult is to yield to the child within
  • Have no other ambition than to be like Christ: not wealth nor power nor fame.
  • To appreciate the little is to have gained great wealth.
  • See with the Spirit and people will be comfortable with you: see with the flesh and people will forsake you.
  • To know the way of God and forsake it for your carnal appetite is to return to the mire from which you were made clean.  It would have been better not to have been born.
  • The gate to heaven is narrow only the little ones can enter.

      Amen
