children, Love me Stand in awe of me Gaze at me with wonder Be amazed Hunger and thirst for me Honor me and honor my Father Leave it all behind The world with all its empty promises The sadness and grief Fear and rejection The disappointment and bitterness And look to me Look to me and receive new life Look to me and be made whole Only those with a heart of a child will enter my kingdom Only those who esteem me of greater value than family, friend, and self Only those who forsake fame, power, and fortune Are worthy of me So many in the church dismiss me So many hear with a hard heart So many make sin a way of life And they do not enter They are more concerned about the flesh then the Spirit More concerned about the world and logic Then about kingdom principles And because of this they suffer Misfortune, sickness, and death Because of this they have no concept of joy or love or peace Because they refuse to abandon all for me You, my child, take a different path And learn of me It will be health to your bones and life to your soul Eternity is forever and ever and ever And only those who know me will experience it with me So seek me with all your heart And I will come and dine with you I stand at the door Open it amen |
