The Christ goal, is to
the vanishing point arrive To be like Enoch, by pleasing God, who strive Where God could, in his love and mercy find Those in whom faith and love of a different kind Opens up the door, to eternal life and more Where glory and honor and power soar Far beyond the realm of Christian lore Not only to Enoch but to Elijah came This reward for having reached a higher fame By going farther, in faith and love than the common herd By embracing God, in spirit, deed, and word But only upon two, was this grace conferred Yet the promise of Paul to the Thessalonians spoke Of a Rapture to come to all the Christian folk The ultimate blessing of Christ to the faithful and true Who are washed in the blood, much more than a few Who through the Spirit, are made creatures new So how, my friend, can we neglect so great a gift By ignoring His word, like a storm tossed ship adrift Remaining carnal, by seeking only worldly pleasure Forsaking the Beatitudes and all heavenly measure To live only for mammon and a life of leisure Unless the word reaches a heart that is fertile and pure The promises of God are neither certain or sure Only to Enoch and Elijah in the old covenant days Was the vanishing point reached along the way And only to those who pay the ultimate price By living for God, will the blood of Christ suffice Therefore do not take for granted What Christ on the cross has planted But earnestly seek and strive to deliver The word and what the Lord wishes for us to consider Where many are called but only few are chosen Amen |
