Unaware of age But keenly aware of gender I bear my soul To one who listens With care and concern As heart touches heart Where the word flows like running water And the spirit free like an eagle in flight It is the way of God To break the rules of conformity and institution After one has gleaned their true importance And move in the way of love As ego dies a thousand deaths Only to find real peace and contentment In solitude and silence As one transcends the barriers of space and time And opens up to the possibilities Of the one who is infinite It is only in the moments of true freedom and authenticity That one breaks through the confines of the unspoken To share in the inner life That true communication takes place And one sees as in a mirror Heart and soul And salvation becomes a real possibility I thank God for moments of truth For in them lies the open door To heaven And for Jessica A soul in whom God can trust And me as well Amen |
