Incarnate Word
11/24/2013
George Poulo
The Word made flesh
in all humility
Vulnerable as a babe
in all fragility
On a star struck
night in all tranquility
Did the Christ child
come in all simplicity
Incarnate Word in a
manger born
Sent by God to a world
forlorn
Only to have his body
on a cross torn
Yet rose again on a
resurrection morn
Jesus the wisdom from
above
Shed his blood to
show his love
Baptized in the
Spirit by the dove
Touched the leper
without a glove
Who would imagine God
would show
His truth to the
world by a transfiguration glow
On the face of Christ
did the Anointing flow
With healing and
peace to the weak and low
Incarnate wisdom for
all to see
Hung by nails on a
wooden tree
Removing the sin and
setting us free
In his flesh the
human and divine agree
And as a babe came
for you and me
This Christmas set
your heart on fire
By reading his word
to inspire
Lifting you out of
the muck and mire
To raise you up
higher and higher
To overcome death and
the funeral pyre
Ask Jesus into your
heart
amen
