He Touched Me
03/30/2014
George Poulo

More than riches, more than fame
More than health, and more than worldly gain
Desire to be touched, desire to be known
Desire to have a purpose, desire to be heavenly grown
The touch did thrill the soul and opened the door
Changed the course of destiny and did so much more
Then school and sports and secular books
Without a word, without a thought of how one looks
Rather than success and worldly elevation
Rather than a mission and a higher estimation
The touch propelled me to share his passion
And my life resembled a most undesirable fashion
The word became my overriding need
My life a sacrifice, a pitiable seed
From all appearances it made no sense
Complete submission, not sitting on the fence
He touched me and my life was worth
Far less, for the experience of second birth
It took years for me to be made free
But now my rewards are great and a joy to be
A child of God and part of the great jubilee
The touch is greater than words or reason
It may come in or out of season
It does not matter if you're ready
God will upset the cart then make you steady
So do not fear and do not waver
Pray most of all to receive God's favor
And receive a touch that will shake what can be shaken
Only to find that in the rapture you will not be forsaken
He touched me, he touched me
and oh the joy that fills my soul

Amen
