Boast in the work Christ did for us Not in what we do for Christ Pride never makes us right with God Only putting our faith in Christ We are made free from the bondage of sin and the Law Not to indulge the flesh We use our freedom to bear the fruit of the Spirit Love, peace, and joy Following Christ may mean we lose The friends whose way we followed But if it be Christ we now follow The rewards we shall reap Are friendship with God and life-everlasting Being a Christian may bring persecution May it also bring the grace to keep the faith Do not bear the pattern of the world to avoid persecution Bear the pattern of Christ to give glory to God Plant seeds of love Reap a harvest for heaven Plants seeds of hate Hell is at the gate |
