Only the gift of faith can save the soul To live by grace will make one whole So find the courage to surrender And God will save the worst offender Only hope will overt despair As we look to God to repair Without vision we are lost God will save at any cost Only love cannot fail to supply When on faith alone we rely Even prophesy may fail to reach What only unconditional love can teach Without faith there is no hope Without hope we cannot cope Without love our faith is vain Faith with love is sure gain Now there abides these three Faith, hope and love to agree Without them life is dead With them in the Spirit to be led Jesus is the one who gives These virtues to the one who lives Above the realm of human nature And gives life to any creature The goal of salvation is to teach The Christian how to strive to reach The virtues of faith, hope, and love to abide And in the kingdom of God to reside Without them salvation makes no sense And we're sitting on the fence To be born again is to make our life agree With the wisdom of these three Now abide faith, hope, and love The greatest of these is love Amen |
