A Place of Peace
by George Poulo

Finding a place of peace
Where strife and torment cease
The "I" detached from me
Where desire and attachment flee

Finding a place of peace
Where love and joy increase
The Self no longer good or bad
Where acceptance is what makes you glad

Finding a place of peace
Where body and soul release
The spirit one with Spirit great
Where life and we can all relate

To find that place where all is well
Where body, spirit, and soul can dwell
Free from grasp, from wish and will
Where harmony and satisfaction find their fill

Christ is our model for finding this place
Of living for God and receiving the grace
To die to self, the lust and the craving
To accept life's terms and embrace Him saving

Who would have thought this self of God's creation
Would be the source of pain, not jubilation
That only in dying, the self would find
A love of life of a different kind

Yet the self not wishing to die
Kicks and bites will wail and cry
And only then will give up the fight
And surrender to God and attain its sight

And so find a place of peace.....where all is right
