When a person sees his face in a mirror he sees his eyes, his nose, his ears, in short, his face.

When a person looks in the mirror of God’s word he sees his sin, his shortcomings, the will of God for his life, what he needs to do, and what he needs to become: what he has accomplished and what is left to do.

The world only looks at the natural mirror and does not see its soul.  To see inside requires a mirror of a different sort.  That mirror is spirit.  It reflects the will of God.
