When you see smoke from a chimney you know that there is fire in the fireplace; so too when you see someone practicing the word of God the Holy Spirit dwells within.

The light bulb is dark when not connected to the power; so too our light only shines when in touch with God.

Only trees planted by rivers of water grow fruitfully; so too we only bear good fruit when in touch with the water of the Spirit.

Words are a noise in the soul which must be silenced in order to hear the word of God.

Just as we do not know how deep a lake until we dive in the water, we do not know how deep the wise until we seek the truth they have to give.

Those who practice silence say more without words then those who speak the chatter of the world.

Little is of greater worth if appreciated then much that is taken for granted.

To be a friend of the world is to believe that wealth, power, and fame that the world gives are the way to happiness.  To be a friend of God is to live by faith and find true joy and prosperity in Him.  The source of the blessing makes all the difference.

Just as outer light guides our path to our earthly destination so too the inner light guides our path to our eternal destination

Just as food is necessary for our physical health, the Spirit is necessary for the health of the soul.

You may just travel a greater distance in stillness then going all over the world and never finding peace.

Our eyes see more in a short time looking within then spent only constantly looking without.

There is more danger yielding to a fleshly spirit then crossing a busy street without looking.
