A Reflection of Life...

I was sitting in prayerful reflection with God having had a very powerful weekend in the Lord.  Prayer with my pastor on Friday, Good Friday service that night, a day in contemplation with nature on Saturday, and a church service that was off the charts on Sunday and preaching Sunday afternoon led me to prayerful reflection Sunday night.  I had been meditating over the last couple of weeks on the scripture “It is more blessed to give than receive.”  It was then that God gave me an insight into receiving from God.  I have been seeking a spiritual gift, another gift of the Holy Spirit, when he said to me to ask for the gift that I might give, ask to be blessed that I might be a blessing, ask for a gift not to glorify self but to glorify my Lord and Savior, ask for a gift to exalt the Lord Jesus.  So I asked to receive a gift not to edify self but to heal the sick, set the captive free, open the eyes of the blind, and feed the hungry.  As I have become accustomed to giving, making it a habit to give as I am led of the Spirit, to turn to God to show me how and where to give, he has blessed me more than I could ever think or imagine.  Ten million dollars could not begin to give me the joy and happiness that I have in communion with God.  The more that I spend time with God, the less and less the world and the flesh has power over me, and I live each day in the Spirit and rejoice in the God of my salvation.  I want to be known as a giver…. for God so loved that he gave… and so should we.  Amen
