From
lawlessness we came A life innocent, a child unmade Wide awake and open Words only a thisness Not abstract and conceptual Love spontaneous and free Not governed by rules or code Unless we become like these little ones We cannot enter the kingdom of God The law a schoolmaster To tame the flesh The flesh corrupt A tempest of lustful desires Fornication and adultery Lying and stealing Anger and malice Jealousy and envy A web of deceit And no one can tame the tongue The law our knowledge of sin Christ who came to redeem Those who harness the flesh without repentance Become hard and callous Judgmental and full of pride And are lacking in childlike simplicity And cannot enter the kingdom of love To lawlessness we go Led by the Spirit not under the law Motivated by love Source of creativity and freedom A child once again Not given to condemn Only to redeem The flesh now dead The Spirit now alive The fruit to behold Joy and peace and love boundless and free To return to the child and into his kingdom to enter Learn from living and not from the law And you are his child indeed!
