We are ambassadors for Christ
2Cor5:20 An ambassador is the highest ranking official appointed by a government to represent it to another country. As ambassadors for Christ we have been given the highest honor to represent him to the lost. But unless we have received grace and apostleship we are not there yet. Unless we have worked out our salvation, we are not living in the power or the glory of Christ. Unless we live by faith, have overcome habitual sin, been baptized in the Holy Ghost, we are not there yet. “Our battle is not with flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Eph6:12) Until we know 'who we are' in Christ we are not of very much use to God. We do not know who the enemy is or how to deal with him. If we live with low self esteem, inferiority, submission to failure, not believing that Christ makes us righteous, that through faith and patience we will inherit the promises, that we can tread on serpents and scorpions and have power over all the works of the enemy, we do not know who we are in Christ. If we believe that the gospel is a fairy tale, that Christianity is nothing more than going to church on Sunday and 'trying' to be a good person following the Law, continually confessing we are not worthy, we will never know the power or glory of God. We will not live in victory, we will not receive 'the blessing' of the Spirit's anointing, or be a good ambassador for Christ. The letters of St. Paul, Peter, James, and John are written to a born again, Spirit-filled church who see their mission to encourage the body of Christ to live holy and proclaim the good news of salvation through Christ's life, death, and resurrection to the lost. As Christians that is to be our highest calling, to be ambassadors for Christ. It is the highest honor that the Father can bestow on us. It is a calling for every one of us who profess faith in Christ. Do you know 'who we are', do you know 'who you are' in Christ? Do you know? You must come to know! Begin today. Begin now. Confess that the blood of Christ cleanses me of all sin. Confess that I receive the gift of the Spirit through faith. Confess that I mortify the deeds of the flesh and live and walk in the Spirit. Confess that I have power over poverty, sickness, accidents, and death. Confess that if I speak to those mountains and cast them into the sea, they must obey me. Confess that I am more than a conqueror in Christ. Confess that through faith in Christ, I am worthy to inherit all the blessings of Abraham. Confess that God is my Father and now I call him Papa. Begin to confess the Truth and no longer live by the facts of the world. Start confessing the Truth! And stop confessing weakness, inferiority, lack, sickness, and death. By faith I am an ambassador for Christ and I no longer live for myself, the lures of the world, or the chains of darkness. By faith I live in Victory and the devil must flee. Confess! Confess! Confess! amen |
