Behold: I stand at the door and
knock
Rev3:20 There are two significant doors in scripture. The one door is the door of your heart. Jesus is standing there and he is knocking. He may have been knocking most of your life but you either didn’t hear the knock or you refused to open. It is the role of the church to preach the good news of salvation through faith in Christ. That is how Jesus usually knocks. Sometimes he knocks when you read his word. Other times he knocks when you experience the love of God in a Christian believer. He may knock by healing you of some disorder or delivering you from some trial. However he knocks, it requires you to open the door and let him in so that you may enjoy a relationship with him. Once we open the door we must cultivate that relationship. There is another door however. This is the door of heaven. Jesus says “I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and go in and out and find pasture.” (Jn10:7-9) The door of heaven is beginning to close. As the wind begins to shift, as we enter the days of tribulation, only those who have prepared themselves to receive the Lord will enter. The parable of the ten virgins reveal to us that when the Lord descends with a shout, only those whose lamps have oil will be able to go and greet the Lord. Then the door will be shut and when the others finally come with their lamps now filled and begin to knock, Jesus will not open the door. Recognize the sign of the times. Have you heard Jesus knocking at the door of your heart? It is still not too late to open the door. The hour, however, is quickly approaching when it will be too late. Unless you let him in, you will lose your reward. Say this prayer with me: Jesus, I hear you knocking on the door of my heart. I hear you saying I love you and I died for you. So by faith I open the door of my heart and ask you to dwell there. By your blood I have been forgiven and made free. Deliver me from all evil and fill me with the oil of your Holy Spirit. I will use whatever time is left to develop a closer relationship with you by reading your word and prayer. When you come to receive your church do not leave me behind. Amen If today you heard him knocking and did not harden your heart, you will be saved. Amen and Amen Thanks be to God! |
