Our faith is a mere abstraction until it is tested by fire.  Faith needs experience to become living and real.  Without the test there is little growth.  Without the test there is little guidance for the afflicted and no true character.  Only those who have weathered the storms of life are fit to talk about the ways and means of navigating through choppy waters.  Only by going through the fire do we gain praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Christ. 

            Jesus says have faith in God.  Faith speaks to the mountain.  Faith speaks to the trial and faith speaks to the heart not to fear or be dismayed.  Faith comes by hearing and we need to speak to ourselves the words of life.  We need to speak to ourselves comforting words, words of scripture to calm the inner storms and arrest the anxiety that can arise because of the fire. 

            Many of us have been conditioned to fear when we experience a difficult and trying situation.  Early childhood trauma may have left us vulnerable to stress and anxiety.  Only by learning to nurture our inner man with words of faith and encouragement can we change our destiny.  Words are process starters and godly words can reverse our negative reaction to fiery trials and produce a godly character similar to Christ.

            So become a student of scripture.  Read the psalms and sing hymns of faith.  Reprogram your life by changing your diet.  Avoid negative people.  Spend quiet time in silence.  Enjoy nature and not artificial stimulation like T.V. and the internet.  Engage in holy conversation rather than worldly chatter.  Put on the armor of God by being righteous and holy.  Soon the fiery tests will become opportunities for growth and change rather than fear and withdrawal and you will share in glory of the Lord and be a blessing to many.  Learn the secret of speaking words of edification, exhortation, and comfort.  It is the spirit of prophesy.  If you learn how to speak to the mountain and to yourself you will overcome all obstacles and change your destiny forever.
