You shall know the truth and the truth
will make you free
Jn8:32 In the writings of the Apostle John we should know many things. We should know we have eternal life and that life is in the Son. We should know that God hears us when we ask according to his will and our heart does not condemn us. We should know that for a child of God sin is not an option. We should know that we are of God and that the whole world lies in wickedness. We should know we love the children of God when we love God and keep his commandments. John in his first epistle is telling us what we, as Christians, ought to know. The question remains, Do you know? Do you have knowledge of the truth? Are you free? Getting to know takes time. We must be born again. We must have the witness of the Spirit. We must come to know Jesus. We must be familiar with scripture. We must have the victory that overcomes the world, faith. We must step out of the world and into the kingdom of God. When we enter the kingdom of God all the things John tells us we ought to know, will be known. If you do not know what John says we should know, you need to make God your number one priority. You need to forsake the world and find Jesus. Jesus is more important than all earthly relationships and all earthly desires. This life is short. Eternity is forever. Do what you need to do now and don't put it off. One day there will be no tomorrow. Ask Jesus into your heart. Ask to receive the Holy Spirit. Begin to read the New Testament, especially the gospels. Find a church that preaches the truth. Fellowship with believers. Take quiet time alone to pray. If you begin to do these things, you will come to know the truth. When you know the truth, you will be free. You will have the inner witness. You will experience joy. You will know your destiny. You will know what the Apostle John says we should know. My prayer for you is that some day you will know. amen |
