Faith…the evidence of things unseen Heb11:1b Much of
contemporary evidence for the existence of God focuses on the argument of
design. Because of the intricacy of the
universe, its design, there must be one who designed it. That being who designed it we call God. Other arguments offered are since there is
movement in the world, there must be an unmoved mover. That being who is an unmoved mover we call
God. Or since we see cause and effect in
the world, there must be an uncaused cause.
That being who is an uncaused cause we call God. Even The bible says that the Jew requires a sign and that the Greeks seek wisdom. I would say in our agnostic culture, a culture of death and sin, we all need a sign and wisdom. The way that signs are manifest comes through faith. Get somebody healed and people are more apt to believe. Turn back a storm in the sky and people are more apt to believe. Have a limb grow back and people will respond. Raise the dead and people will take notice. Faith is the evidence of things unseen. Without faith it is impossible to please God and without faith it just may be impossible to please man either. We as a
Christian church must build up our faith.
We must get to the place that signs and wonders are evidenced not only
for the sake of the afflicted but also to create an atmosphere where the
unbeliever may just become a believer.
That is a good reason to begin to fight the good fight of faith. It may just be the reason to be bold and
fearless and to begin to speak to the mountains of difficulty and cast them
into the sea. It may be the very reason
to forsake the world to enter the Faith is a powerful force. It comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. As we confess the word, as we speak to our mountains, as we put on the armor of God, as we stand together in agreement we become a force ourselves. That force is a sign to the unbeliever to open himself up to the possibility of a God who sent his Son into the world to die for our sin. It is not enough to get someone to believe in God. Through faith we can demonstrate that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and that no one comes to the Father accept through the Son. Faith is a great resource for the Christian. Build up your faith praying in the Holy Spirit. Believe that faith is the key that will open doors that are shut and close those doors that need not be open. Be people of faith. Be people who live by faith. The just shall live by faith! Amen |
