Death Spirits

There are two kinds of death spirits.  There is the fear of death like fear of heights, fear of bridges, fear of water and there is the spirit of death that we have inherited through the fall of Adam and Eve.  Both of these spirits need to be cast out.  The spirit of fear is opposed to the spirit of faith and fear is a fleshly spirit which is a sin.   Just like any other fleshy spirit, this spirit causes us to live below the standard God has placed for us in the bible and when we recognize we are in bondage to that spirit, we must repent and be delivered.  The spirit of death is the spirit which causes our bodies to corrupt and die.  It is the spirit which causes us to age and loose our vim and vigor.  Psalm 103 tells us that our youth can be renewed like the eagles and this is done through faith and deliverance.  We can age without getting old or sick until God wants to take us home.

No matter what hardship St. Paul faced, stoning, beatings, nakedness and peril, the Spirit of God restored him and gave him his life back.  Not only was St. Paul free from fleshly spirits, he had within him the Spirit of life and only when they cut off his head did he go to be with the Lord.  Similarly, though Jesus died on the cross, he only died when he freely gave up the ghost.  Jesus died for us that we would not experience spiritual death and just as Jesus never got sick and never sinned, if we are set free from the flesh and the spirit of death, only by martyrdom or God's appointment for us with him should we leave this earth.

Many Christians are baptized and have the Spirit of God but have not dealt with the flesh.  Unless we mortify the deeds of the flesh, unless we are delivered from spirits like anger, hatred, fear, judgment, and lust, we will be subject to sin, sickness, and death.  But if we confess the scriptures and pray for complete sanctification, believing what God has promised he is able to perform, we can live in victory and unless we do, we are still subject to the works of the enemy.  Similarly if we cast out the spirit of death we should live like the eagle who when old sheds his feathers, beak, and claws and receives new ones and lives an extra thirty years renewed and looking good

Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.  Enter the kingdom of God and receive all the good things God has for you.  Stretch your faith and receive new life.

amen
