We live in the world by faith. That people don't realize this is
a product of the enemy's deception. David Hume's insight was to
make the claim that there is no necessary cause and effect. What
that means is that while we live on this earth there is no ultimate
guarantee that the future will repeat the past. We can throw a
ball up in the air a hundred times but not know for certain that when
we throw it up again, it will come down. With such logic he
undermined proofs for the existence of God based on natural law.
But because there is no necessary connection between causes and
effects, it does not therefore follow that cause and effect is not
necessary for life. That there is natural law has all the
validity of science and physics backing it up. That planes fly,
cars run, bridges support weight, we can predict sunrises and sunsets
are sure proof that there is natural law. If it were not so, we
would all perish. So given that fact, that there is natural law,
means that someone or something had to put life in motion. St.
John indicates for us that Jesus is the one who set the ball in
motion. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. Jesus is the Alpha. That we live in a
world of natural law is still proof that God exists. Similarly, having established the truth, that God in Christ started everything, it is also truth to say that God in Christ will end the world as we know it and establish a new heaven and a new earth. This will be accomplished when Jesus comes back for a second time rapturing the church and bringing in the Tribulation which will end with the Millennium and the end of the world as it is now. Not only is Jesus the Alpha, he is the Omega. He is the end and the only way to eternal life. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel; and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1Thes4:16-17) Make no mistake about it. Jesus is the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega. Either you line yourself up with him or perish in everlasting fire. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Nobody comes to the Father without him. (Jn14:6) The devil is our enemy. He is a liar and a deceiver and a tempter. Unless we study the word of God to show ourselves approved by God, rightly dividing the word of God, we can and we will be deceived. But if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that he was raised from the dead we shall be saved, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Rm10:9-10) Don't put it off. Today is the day of salvation so don't harden your heart. Repent and ask Jesus into your heart. When he comes back will you be caught up to be with him or will you suffer eternal loss? The choice is yours. amen |
