We have been considering the blessing of Abraham, that through faith he became a friend of God, and received the blessing, the very Spirit of God the Father, a Promised child, and a Promised Land.  We, who call ourselves Christians, are descendents of Abraham through faith, and as such, should receive the blessing as did Abraham.  In this scripture in Hebrews we get a glimpse of how we receive the blessing.

 Land that drinks in the rain

             Drinking in the rain means being born again, receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit and being obedient to its leading and direction even when contrary to logic and reasoning, soaking in the word of God, clearing your body from the flesh and sin, getting comfortable with stillness and silence, enduring hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ, losing your ego, and living in love. 

            The land that drinks in the rain produces a crop for those for whom God wants to bless.  By drinking in the rain you fulfill the will of God, not only for yourself, but for the elect as well.  By drinking in the rain you produce fruit and the time it took for you to come to a place of fullness was not only for yourself but those who are the elect.
