Prohibited: Talking about God without the experience of him. Prohibited: talking about holiness without being holy. Prohibited: talking about the scriptures without living them. Imagine how much less talk there would be about God if one had to have his Spirit to talk about Him. Imagine how much less theology would be written if one had to be holy in order to write about it. Finally, imagine how much less the gospel would be preached if people had to live it before they preached it. There would certainly be less fraud and fewer false witnesses and those who professed to be Christians would not give false representation to the way, the truth, and the life. As it is, people talk about things which they have neither experienced nor grasped. As a result, given the lackluster performance of most nominal Christians, who outside of a cradle Christianity would want to be one. Power resides with faith-filled, spirit-filled, obedient, loving, Christ-centered people who make the scriptures come alive by the life they live and the presence they exhibit. If you are prone to talk about things you have not experienced or put into practice, beware! Teachers will be held to a higher account and by their fruit they will be known. So judge yourself lest you be judged and stop giving false witness if you have not produced the goods. Amen |
