The word of God is quick and powerful
Sharper than any two-edged sword, Piercing even to the dividing of soul And spirit, and the joints and marrow, and Is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of The heart. Heb4:12 The soul of man surrounds the spirit like the bone covers the marrow. The spirit man is trapped and hidden from the ruler ship and dominion it was created to possess like the marrow is surrounded by the bone. The spirit is hidden like a lamp under a bushel. Not only that, the spirit man is turned and controlled by the soul like the joints to the bone. The soul, our intellect, will, and emotions, our conceptual life, governs our lives and keeps us in darkness and unconscious unreality. There is nothing man can do of himself to free us from the tyranny of the soul. Our soul, the way we are conditioned to respond the world, is subject to fear, anxiety, resentment, anger, and bitterness. Our spirit is free, non-judgment, open, and joyful. To free our spirit, to be born-again, requires us to allow God to divide the soul from the spirit through the word. It is a piercing. One of the main goals of Christian ministry is to liberate the spirit from the soul, the flesh, the carnal man. Whether it is praise and worship, music and prayer, teaching or preaching the goal is to move people out of the flesh into the spirit. A good worship team will use music, psalms, and poetry to divide the soul from the spirit and emancipate the congregation. Good preaching and good teaching will do the same. A life hidden with Christ in God can do the same. Those who a led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Those that have their spirits set free are able to love, heal, and forgive. Those that are freed from the tyranny of the flesh are aware. They can see without bias or judgment and without fear, anger, or resentment. Man is a spirit. As spirit he is made in the image of God. As spirit he is to govern his soul and his body and make them yield to spirit. It is the power of the word to separate the soul from the spirit and discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. Men and women who have received the gift of Christ as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers have the anointing to edify the body of Christ: To get people out of their heads into their heart and receive from God. Ministerial direction has its focus to reach the spirit man and emancipate him. Ministerial direction uses the word to pierce the heart and sever. Ministerial direction is not conceptual but real. God is real, is Spirit, and they that worship him must worship in spirit and in truth. Prayer, effective prayer has the goal of getting one into the spirit, so does preaching and teaching. It is how they become effective. Man is spirit. He has a soul. He lives in his body. But until man is born again, he is not free. He does not see. He judges and classifies. He sees people as either saints or sinners, good or bad. The real direction of all Christian Ministry is to reach the spirit and in so doing set a person free: To get them into a healthy way of living and seeing the world, themselves and each other. Only by applying the word to our lives will this be accomplished. Only by recognizing the true Ministerial Direction will man become free. You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Amen. |
