Seek
ye first the
kingdom of God
Matt6:33
Finding the kingdom of God need not be a mystery. For me that kingdom is found at the nursing home I attend and my place of work. Where my natural kingdom, my family, did not always provide the necessities for living a good life, overcoming natural predilections and sympathies and loving these people as if they were my own family has ushered in the kingdom of God. Leaving husband and wife, son and daughter, land and home need not be a physical leaving but a spiritual one. If God is calling you to evangelize, it may just be in a kingdom not far from you at all. To see the kingdom may just mean seeing the very people he has already placed in your path. Being led of the Spirit may just mean God opening your eyes to see the needs of others and giving you the capacity to love not in word or tongue but in deed and truth. No man who is born of the Spirit is far from the kingdom of God, but it is only through obedience that we enter. Finding the kingdom occurs when we walk in love, the essence of the gospel. Be people of love. Amen |
